HIS SHY AND INTROVERTED PERSONALITY
He is one of most shy people I’ve ever seen in my life. He has problems talking to people he doesn’t know. This is pretty obvious in his interviews and 1n2d.
He gets shy when he talks about his wife or when he is sending video messages to her.
HIS EXTREMELY DORKY CHARACTER
You would never expect him to be funny and dorky when you think of his “UHMFORCE” image. Han Ji Min said that at first she was afraid to meet UTW for the fist time, because he always took on the bad guy role which scared her. She was shocked to see that UTW was funny, never serious and extremely shy.
HIS HARDWORKING PERSONALITY
I’m not talking about how many movies/dramas he made, but how hard he works in his movies/dramas. He never uses stunts even when he’s acting in action scenes.
He didn’t use a stunt even in this hard full of action scene.

Almost all actors he’s worked with say that he is organized, self disciplined and hardworking.
HE DIDN’T BECOME POPULAR WITH HIS GOOD LOOKS
Unlike most popular actors out there (who became popular mainly for their look; there are so many), UTW became popular thanks to his acting talents. He was overshadowed by his sister Uhm Jung Hwa because people didn’t take him seriously. A PD even told him to stop trying to become an actor because no two people from the same family could hit it big and UJH was huge.It’s funny how the same PD met him accidentally on some occasion only few years later and told UTW that he was the best out there.
On the set of Silmido, Ahn Seung Gi realized his talent and said that he would turn into a true actor.
HE IS VERY HONEST
People who have watched 1n2d would know that UTW is known for his honest personality (yet sometimes tactless). In one episode, UTW was telling the truth to the other members but the others thought that he wouldn’t tell the truth right away and didn’t believe him.
In one other episode, UTW had found a piece of writing that the other group had hidden. He was trying to act as if he didn’t find it. He hadn’t said anything but he was trying to support a “couldn’t find” facial expression. Lee Soo Geun looked at his face and said “He found it “right away. He said that UTW couldn’t lie a few times.
HE LOVES ANIMALS
He is known as the actor with lots of dogs. He loves dogs and other animals. On Win Win, he said that he had ducks and a lizard (!) as pets when he was young but unfortunately they died.
HE HAS AN ADORABLE SMILE
He is known for his adorable, sincere smile.
HE IS INNOCENT
Although he believes that he can’t be innocent at his age, he is the innocent guy (maybe one of the few innocent celebrities.).
HE IS AFRAID OF HIS WIFE
On 1n2d, the PD edited a scene in a weird way and it made UTW look like a bad person who didn’t respect his wife and didn’t eat her food. The next trip they talked about how his wife got angry and throw the lunch boxes away and told him that she wasn’t going to pack him lunch again.
When Soo Ae was the guest she said that UTW used to call her everyday. His wife got angry because he never called her. He said that he had a hard time explaining his wife.
On Happy Together, he talked about how he forgot to tell his wife when and where he was going in advance. One day he went out without telling her and went to feed his dogs, came back an hour later and his wife asked her where he was and why he didn’t tell her. Then Kim Min Joon said that UTW had told his wife that he was feeding the dogs, but met him instead. Everyone thought that he had lied to his wife. UTW said that he went out to feed the dogs, KMJ called and said that he was having a drink with friends, didn’t invite him but UTW suddenly showed up.
In the last minutes, the MCs asked UTW to send a message to his wife (he made it to the HT menu with his wife’s recipe) UTW said that he really went out to feed the dogs and just stopped by. Everyone laughed because they couldn’t believe he was still worrying that his wife would get angry at him.
